Whether you like it or not, the interior design of your office matters.

Office’s Interior

Every time a visitor steps inside your Office’s Interior, be it a potential business partner or an applicant, your office needs to make a good impression. You can’t just add a couch and a coffee table and call it a day. Making the office presentable takes time and effort, but the payoff is definitely worth it and the repercussion of not doing so can be detrimental to your business.

Doing renovations can be pretty costly, especially for small offices or businesses just starting out. It’s perfectly understandable that most businesses won’t have the funds to hire a office’s interior to do the work for them.

However, designing the office to make it seem presentable shouldn’t cost you a fortune. There are tons of ways to improve the appearance of your office, and listed below are a couple of ways to do so.

Improve office lighting.

Good lighting can drastically change the office atmosphere. If you’re going for a gothic or depressing look, then, by all means, opt for warmer tones in the office’s interior. But if you want to add life and light, make sure to enhance natural light as much as possible.

Replace the heavy drapes by light ones, but make sure not to completely remove the curtains. Letting in more natural light isn’t just energy-efficient, it also complements a livelier office environment. And once the improved office light is implemented, you’ll have a better idea of what else can be improved with your office space, including design and layout.

Add a large mirror in the office’s interior lobby.

Want a touch of luxury and grandeur in your small office space?  You can do so by adding a large mirror in your office lobby. Of course, don’t just haphazardly buy a mirror. Choose a design that will complement the already existing look of your office lobby. Though you can definitely purchase a new, buying secondhand mirrors online or thrift stores can also be an option. Besides, secondhand mirrors might have the character and charm that new mirrors you can buy at malls do no thieve.

Decorate the office with potted and hanging plants.

Every nook and corner can be decorated with plants, big and small. But if your budget is limited, the most frequented spaces such as hallways, lobbies, and pantries are good places for plants.

Hallways don’t have to be bare and empty. Bring it to life with some potted plants to give it some spark. Broadleaf leaf palm, Peace Lily, and Chinese Evergreen look great in spacious office spaces such as hallways. For the lobby, a tall plant can be added in one corner, and it would be enough to liven it up. Norfolk Island Pine and Yucca are popular choices among Office’s Interior.

There are also plants aren’t meant just for decoration because they can also help in purifying the air, such as Dracaena Marginata, Weeping Fig, and Heartleaf Philodendron.

If the upkeep will be an issue, these plants are often low maintenance so it won’t cause too much trouble for those who will maintain and manage the plants.

Promote cleanliness and tidiness in the workplace.

No matter how much you decorate the office, it will all be futile if you can’t maintain the cleanliness of the office space. While it’s understandable that cleanliness would be difficult to maintain if you put dozens of individuals in one room, it’s still doable and expected of people who are already in the workplace.

Add signs that gently remind employees to properly dispose of their trash and not to leave unwashed dishes on the office pantry’s kitchen sink. Use these signs to remind them to clean as they go every time they eat in the office—be it in the pantry or their desk. If your budget allows for it, hold a mini-contest that will reward employees with organized workstations and clutter-free desks.

Hire an interior design consultant.

If you don’t have enough funds for an interior design firm, then maybe you can spare a few to talk with a consultant. They can give solid advice and professional opinion on how you can further improve on the interior design of your office. Though they won’t be able to carry it out for you, some of this advice might be doable enough for your office staff to do themselves. With a little bit of resourcefulness and creativity, A beautiful office space may not be cheap, but there are still affordable ways to improve how your office looks.
